Your child is invited to sign up for this year’sWinter Reading Challengeat your locallibrary!What is theWinterReading Challenge?TheWinterReading Challengeis a fun activity put together by Essex Library Servicefor children aged 0-11. Itencourages childrenand familiesto keep readingover thewinter and to visit their local library.They will join Lyra the penguin as she travels around the worldwith her magic bookto find out more about endangered animals.Children will complete 6 challenges (from a list of 12), and it’sFREEto take part.How can my child take part?Visit yourlocal librarytosign up. Your child will:•ReceivetheirChallenge folder•Choose 6 challenges to complete (from a list of 12)•Earn a sticker for each challenge they complete•When they’ve complete 6 challenges they will receive a certificate and, whilststocks last, they will also receive a packet of seeds and a free book fromPenguin Books.•Over the winter we will also bereleasing videos about Lyra’s journey so keepan eye on our YouTube Channel (Youtube.com/essexlibraries) and socialmedia channels (@EssexLibraries).When?Throughout thewinterfrom25 Novemberto3 February.Unsure where yourclosest library is-use the Essex Library Servicewebsiteto check.Head to your local library thiswinterand sign up!You can find out more about thechallenge on thelibrary websiteand if you have any questions, please ask staff inthe library.We look forward to seeing you!Best wishesEssex Library Service
